Some popular
rafting rivers:
The Trisuli River(3+): is one of the most popular of Nepal's
raftable rivers because of its proximity to Kathmandu and the
easy road access. For first time rafters it offers plenty of
excitement. You can also choose to incorporate a ride down the
Trisuli with either a trip to Pokhara or to the Royal Chitwan
National Park.
The Kali
Gandaki River (4-4+): is a remote rafting destination. The
river winds through canyons and gorges among gorgeous wilderness
and mountain views and offers intense rapids. Trips on the Kali
Gandaki begin and end in Pokhara and offer an exciting
alternative to the Trisuli.
The Bhote
Kosi River (4-5+): is a special river located only three
hours from Kathmandu. It is a two day run of pure excitement and
thrill twenty six km of continuous white water through a
veritable maze of canyons and boulders. You can make the join
trip of Bungy jumping from the 160m. High Bridge!!!!!!!!
The
Marsyangdi River (4-5+): a raging river in central Nepal, is
a relative newcomer. The Marsyangdi is a four day run of
uninterrupted white water. The river flows through the gorges of
the Annapurnas and runs for fifty two km between boiling foam
and towering peaks. Trips start from Pokhara.
The Karnali
river (4-5+): in the far west is the longest and largest
river in Nepal where rafting is done expedition style. It takes
a two day trek from Surkhet in the Terai to arrive at the river.
The first ninety km run consists of spectacular landscapes and
narrow gorges and some of the most challenging rapids. The
remaining ninety offers attractive scenery and wildlife as well
as an abundance of fish. This is a remote and pristine rafting
destination uninterrupted by human habitation.
The Sun Kosi
River (4-5+): is the second offering of expedition rafting.
The put in point is only three house from Kathmandu and is thus
more easily accessible than the Karnali. Nevertheless, it offers
an incredible stretch of exhilarating white water. The run is
270 km and requires approximately 8-10 days to complete with
road access possible only at the beginning and the end. The
white water is consistently intense and accompanies rafters
right till the end.
